THE TOEFL

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a test that evaluates a non-native English speaker´s ability to read, listen, speak and write English in a similar way that it is used in universities. The test is divided into four sections and integrates all four of these English language skills.

Your TOEFL score consists of four numbers, each of which rates a part of your performance on the exam.  The most familiar number is the overall, or composite score.  This number ranges from 0 to 120 and is determined by a combination of your scores on each of the four sections.

The individual sections are graded separately. You will receive four scores ranging from 0 to 30: Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing.
